My name is Brooke Tegtmeyer and I am part of the class of 2024. I have been riding for 10 years and currently train with Kinvarra Farm located in St. Charles, Illinois. My focus in riding has been in equitation, but I also enjoy the hunters and jumpers. Along with riding, I am very dedicated to my schoolwork and maintaining my 4.44 weighted GPA. I attend South Elgin High School and I am very immersed into the school environment. As a way of participating in school, I am part of multiple clubs including ECHO, Best Buddies, Freshman Mentors, and Class Council.
I have applied and been granted a gym exemption since freshman year due to the amount of time I am dedicating to my training at the barn. This exemption allows me to have another study hall, which I use to stay on top of my schoolwork and spend more time learning and helping at the barn. Kinvarra gives me many opportunities to learn from vets, farriers, and many clinicians to help me become a more well-rounded equestrian. Having extra time at the barn gives me the opportunity to help and ride a variety of horses. Riding different horses allows me to expand my knowledge on how to ride horses of all specialties and further improve my riding.
